Rembrandt Peale (22 February 1778 – 3 October 1860) was a United States Neoclassical painter. Peale was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the second son of Charles Willson Peale, also a well known professional artist. He spent most of his career in Philadelphia.
This portrait of Thomas Jefferson by Rembrandt Peale reflects the president’s famous serenity and warm personality. It was painted in Philadelphia in 1800 and now hangs in the Blue Room. Framed.
